Are You Staying Hydrated this Summer?

Happy Summer! The season of flip flops, beach balls and tan lines has come upon us and we couldn’t be more excited! Most would agree that summer is one of the best and most memorable seasons, but along with the fun times comes many health risks. We covered the importance of protecting ourselves from the sun and today we want to talk to you all about staying hydrated!

Everyone knows that the sun dehydrates you and how dangerous that can be to your health. So, this week we are providing you with four really easy ways to make sure that you and your family are staying hydrated this summer!

Tip #1

Always carry a water bottle with you! If there is water right in front of you, you are more likely to drink it throughout your day

Tip #2

When you feel tired or dizzy, drink a glass of cold water. Fatigue and dizziness are some of the first signs of dehydration

Tip #3

Eat foods that are rich in water. Fruits, vegetables, and yogurt all contain water and increase your fluid intake.

Tip #4

Track your water intake. There are nutrition tracking apps that help you in making sure that you drink enough water. We recommend the My Fitness Pal app.
